THE CAFE
Open Monday through Saturday from 6 AM to 3 PM, Vintage Café features both indoor and outdoor seating, as well as a convenient drive-thru window. We proudly serve specialty coffees, teas, fresh juices, smoothies, and a variety of healthy breakfast and lunch options, including fresh salads, baked goods, and grilled paninis, along with grab-and-go items. Customers can quickly pick up items from our cooler or explore our small retail store, which offers a delightful selection of coffee blends, wines, produce from MGM Greens, and a variety of accessories and gifts. At Vintage Café, we are committed to offering only the finest products.
THE TRANSFORMATION
Originally built in 1955, the two-story former Regions and First National Bank building is now owned by Café proprietor Jud Blount and his uncle, Tom Blount. Before transforming this historic space, the elder Blount, a retired architect, designed notable projects such as the Alabama Shakespeare Festival and Blount Cultural Park, along with several buildings internationally.
The sleek, modern interior was crafted by Laura Dockery Design and brought to life by R.F. Pruett Construction. Together, they refurbished the original terrazzo floors, converted the teller window into a drive-thru, and repurposed the safety deposit boxes along the counter. Guests can also enjoy features from the building's banking history, including a working camera on the height chart by the entrance, a depository box, and the original metal vault gate. Additionally, the second-floor mezzanine offers a view of the entrance and is adjacent to a private room available for daytime meetings and parties. The entire venue can be rented for private events in the afternoons and evenings.
